MySpace Vanity URLs: Why You Need One

Long before vanity URLs became a staple to most social networking sites, MySpace members has been enjoying this little perk for a while now. The primary reason for using vanity URLs or personalized URLs is that the jumble of numbers which MySpace assigns the member upon account registration is rather unattractive to both member and profile viewer. For a while, that’s only IT, nothing more. Back then, people were not too conscious of their Google CVs and they certainly can do without any personal branding efforts.

But that was yesterday. Nowadays, people use search engines to search other individuals they are interested in. An employer acquiring services from a freelance worker would go directly to search engines, enter the name and location of the service provider and would look over his or her credentials and personal information. That is how it’s done now—no papers involved, no personal connections, no nothing; just your plain old internet history and activities.

For all individuals working in the internet world, we know how important it is to maintain visibility as much as possible. But for regular people who would not care if he or she has internet visibility, vanity URLs are for those people who might be looking for you, whether relative or long lost friends, or perhaps someone you have met a long time ago and has been looking for you all over the world. MySpace vanity URLs will help your family and friends in finding you wherever you might be. Of course, aside from acting as your personal calling card, it looks cute too so why not get your own MySpace vanity URL today?

MySpace Helps Filmmakers

Independent filmmakers are definitely making waves these days! Maybe because huge film production companies are cutting costs due to the global economic crisis and unfortunately, it became harder to penetrate the film industry as a direct result. But, as you can see, artists are still artists no matter what, and there is no way the economic crisis will stop these filmmakers from creating masterpieces under weathered situations.

Independent filmmakers work under the harshest situations; they use their mobile phones as recording devices if a real video recording device is not available. These filmmakers use only their talent, skill and resourcefulness in the purest form! Of course, if there is one, persistent problem that can hinder these talented filmmakers from making the best film there is, it is almost always the budget.

If a filmmaker is working with a film production company, he is given a leash, just to make the film as great as can be. That includes everything the filmmaker wants—budget, advertisements, and all the coffee he needs to make it to the top. He won’t have to worry when, where, and how; it will be all about the movie and nothing else. But, what if it’s not the case?

As stated earlier, filmmakers are resourceful people that is why they are quick to learn about MySpace and how it can help them with their films and careers. MySpace helps them reach wider audience without shelling out big money and it also gets them in touch with fellow filmmakers for tips and alerts in the film industry. There are film groups and forums you can join whether to get tips or share your knowledge within the field. And, if you are lucky, maybe your MySpace exposure and networking efforts  will land you a big project by itself.
