Effective MySpace Marketing Tips

Online marketing has never been this easy, all thanks to MySpace. Almost all online marketing gurus swear by it being the best marketing venue when it comes to social networking. This is partly because MySpace is by far, the largest social networking site bearing a huge number of members and not to mention the million signees it receives everyday. Just thinking of the sheer number will convince anyone that this is an active community—a perfect place to hawk your wares.

The key to a successful MySpace marketing is having friends. A profile that has friends generates sales and traffic while passive, inactive ones are dead ends. While inactivity will still generate a little profile views, you are not maximizing your profile’s potential. Consider this:  a relatively unknown musician who dedicates an hour of his day, every single day to MySpace doing comments, interaction and adding friends would be able to double his MySpace friends in a week. Imagine what it can do in a month, or even two, that’s how powerful MySpace is.

Now that we know friends are what we need to survive MySpace marketing, naturally our next best step is to collect them in every opportunity we get right? Well, no. Although it would be fun and super easy to just pick everyone, we still need to keep in mind that we are working with a niche and your friends should really belong to this niche as well in order to generate sales and traffic otherwise, you’re just wasting your time. Find groups that are relevant to your niche and explore group pages for members. MySpace indeed is a great place to start any online marketing efforts because it is very flexible and accommodating, just keep in mind the basic netiquette when doing so and you’ll be fine.
