What MySpace Can Do For Filmmakers

Ever dreamed of being a filmmaker only you can’t figure how to do it yet? You should know that big breaks don’t come easily and nobody is created by God to have x-ray visions to know what your potentials are without being told. You just need to try it out and let people know what you can do or else, you risk having your talents rot.

Anyway, there’s no harm in trying right? If all else fails, then it’s time to move on. Meanwhile, we must look for the cheapest possible way to hawk your wares and not damage your wallet in the process. When we say cheapest way, it means if you can get it for free and still get the same result, then why not? That’s exactly what MySpace can do for you!

When using MySpace, you are hitting two birds with one stone. One, it is the cheapest possible way to get noticed by producers since it is the best, not to mention most convenient way they take to discover new and budding filmmakers. Second, you get constructive feedbacks from the community. Who knows, maybe you’ll find your very own mentor in MySpace too!

Since MySpace is an open community. Knowledge is thrown back and forth so you don’t need to have a film at hand upon signing up. You can join discussions, view other people’s work and learn from the pro up until the time you feel you already know what to do with your material. By this time, you may already have established your standing within the community which will make it a lot easier for you to get exposure.

8 Easy Tips When Designing Your Own MySpace Layout

Designing your own MySpace layout should be easy especially if nothing is at stake. But when you have a business in mind, then you need to take some precautionary measures to ensure success of your MySpace page. Your steps must be deliberate since most marketing gurus will tell you this: it will be your one and only MySpace shot so better do it well.

1.    Plan and strategy. Unless you are using MySpace for personal reasons and won’t take advantage of its marketing potential, planning your design is essential. Also, you need to implement a strategy for your designs to work.
2.    Usability. Build a MySpace layout that is user-friendly. You don’t need to confuse them when they come and visit you.
3.    Theme. A theme will guide you in making decisions regarding all aspects of your MySpace design. They must go hand in hand with one another.
4.    Search engine friendly. Who says SEO only applies to blogs and websites? MySpace also has its own way of showing up when it is called by search engines.
5.    Interaction. When interacting, you don’t make your visitors wait for your page to upload. You make it available for them to use.
6.    Avoid scrollers. Seriously, did you ever scroll that far down? No.
7.    Links are good, only if they are helpful. When you include links, make sure they land exactly on the needed page and not somewhere else.
8.    Avoid blatant spamming. It’s a known fact that MySpace has been used by spammers the world over for quite sometime now. MySpace users have been forewarned in a way that when they start using MySpace, they know that there will be one too many but that doesn’t mean they will welcome a spammer with arms wide open upon encounter. In other words, don’t push it.
